Abstract
The interfacial structure, phases and carbides have been examined in a brazing filler metal with embedded diamond grits. Brazing of superhard and superabrasive grits is of prime interest for high performance machining and precision grinding tools. The morphology of the epitaxial layers and nano-sized carbides grown at the interface between diamond and alloy matrix has been studied to illustrate the reaction mechanism which is essential for achieving better properties.
