Abstract
Twenty weight-percent nanosized SiC particles-reinforced TiC matrix composites were fabricated at 1600 °C without any sintering aids by spark plasma sintering (SPS). The effects of SiC particles on the microstructure and mechanical properties of TiC matrix were investigated. The experimental results of nanosized SiC particles reinforced composites were compared with monolithic TiC and microsized SiC reinforced TiC composites.
