A novel pulverator designed by the writers and the procedure of preparing the nanometer powders were introduced in this paper. Some factors that affect the size of nano-particles were discussed after doing some experiments employing this novel machine. The laser particle size analyzer, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) are used to characterize the product. Compared with the conventional machinery, the means of machine-ultrasound can greatly decrease the particle size and it can also prepare the nanometer powders.
