Abstract
Nano-fiber of zinc oxide (ZnO) has been prepared in a short time of 30 s using zinc powder and steel-wool as a starting materials for the first time, by means of a domestic microwave oven operated at 2.45 GHz and 1000 W, without any post-annealing treatment. The simple and rapid synthesis by means of a domestic microwave oven using zinc powder and steel-wool is an excellent method for preparing ZnO nano-fiber.
