Abstract
This paper presents some of the MAGnetic Micro-Actuators and Systems (MAGMAS) developed in Grenoble by our team at LEG and our local partners. These MAGMAS include ultra-fast bi-stable μ-switches, planar μ-motors and μ-turbo-generators. One important characteristic of these novel devices is the use of integrated permanent magnets; another key feature is the very high current densities achievable in integrated μ-coils. Scale reduction laws, described elsewhere, are briefly introduced.
