By using the molecular dynamics ( MD) method, the deceleration of C-n (n = 60, 180, 240, 540) and C-60@C-240 fullerenes is simulated in aqueous solution. The curves of resistance-velocity and resistance-Renault (Re) number are also obtained. Further the MD results are compared with the Stokes ones of sphere, i.e., the macroscopic theoretical fluid mechanics (FM) results for low Re number. It is shown that under low Re number, the resistance of the fullerenes in aqueous solution is higher than the Stokes results by two orders of magnitude, and it can be estimated through the Stokes results multiplied by (110.38-1.48/Re).
