Structure-integrated arrays of hollow waveguides enable the detection of small variations in the refractive index of an analyte filling the structure, as well as the sensing of (bio)molecular nanolayers on the walls of the waveguides. New highly efficient multichannel sensors based on such waveguide arrays are discussed.
